Engine cooling system: how it works and its main components

The engine in your car works best at high temperatures.  When the engine is cold, parts wear out easily, and more pollutants are emitted, reducing engine efficiency.  Therefore, another important task of the cooling system is to get the engine to warm up as quickly as possible, and then maintain a constant engine temperature.  The main function of the cooling system is to ensure that the engine runs at its optimum operating temperature.  If the cooling system or any part of it fails, it will make the engine overheat, which can cause many serious problems.

Have you ever wondered what would happen if your engine cooling system didn't work properly?  Overheating can cause the cylinder head gasket to explode or, if the problem is serious enough, even break the engine block.  We must overcome this.  If heat cannot be removed from the engine, the piston is literally welded to the interior of the cylinder.  Then you'll have to throw away the engine and buy a new one.  So, you should care about your engine cooling system and learn how it works.
