The composition of the ignition system

The ignition system is an important part of the gasoline engine. The performance of the ignition system has a great impact on the engine's power, fuel consumption and exhaust pollution. All the equipment that can generate electric spark between the two electrodes of the spark plug is called the engine "ignition system". It is usually composed of batteries, generators, distributors, ignition coils and spark plugs.

When the gasoline engine is compressed close to the top dead center, the combustible mixture is ignited by the spark plug, so that the combustion works externally. For this reason, the combustion chamber of the gasoline engine is equipped with a spark plug. The function of the ignition system is to periodically generate a spark with sufficient energy between the two electrodes of the spark plug according to the working sequence of the cylinder.
